MAR Fund, through the Reef Rescue Initiative (RRI), is conducting a review and update of the Early Warning and Rapid Response Protocol \u2013 Actions to Mitigate the Impact of Tropical Cyclones on Coral Reefs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The process is being carried out with the support of a working group composed of MAR Fund and experts in the field, including Calina Zepeda from The Nature Conservancy and Juan Carlos Huitr\u00f3n Baca.<\/strong>. Additionally, professionals Dra. Claudia Padilla and Sara Guti\u00e9rrez,<\/strong> have been hired to lead the collection, analysis, and synthesis of information, as well as to facilitate consultation and validation workshops.<\/p>\n

The objective of this activity is to ensure that the updated protocol reflects the best practices and identified recommendations, guaranteeing a more effective response to the impact of tropical cyclones on coral reefs.<\/p>\n

The update of this instrument aims to strengthen post-storm response capacities in the Mesoamerican Reef region, contributing to the recovery and resilience of the reefs and the communities that depend on them.<\/p>\n

This update is expected to be completed by July\u00a02025.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
