Beneficiary countries include: Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Dominican Republic, and The Bahamas.<\/p>\n<p>This project is focused on the GEF-7 International Waters Focal Area, which aims to\u00a0<strong>strengthen Blue Economy Opportunities and Sustaining healthy coastal and marine ecosystems<\/strong>. Actions will\u00a0<strong>enhance public-private partnerships to identify sustainable investments<\/strong>\u00a0within the blue economy space and transform private sector practices to improve the health of marine and coastal assets.<\/p>\n<p>The global environmental benefits will\u00a0<strong>contribute to socio-economic benefits at the national and local levels<\/strong>, and may improve livelihood options, increase food security, promote gender equality and assist with climate change mitigation and adaptation.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Project Regional Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The blue economy refers to the industries and societies that rely on oceans and waterways.<\/strong>\u00a0The Caribbean Blue Economy Financing (Caribbean BLUEFin) project will\u00a0<strong>tackle several barriers that lead to limited financial resources being invested in marine and coastal ecosystems<\/strong>\u00a0nd the inadequate consideration of the value of these ecosystems\u2019 goods and services.
