The Second Biennial Meeting for the RRN-MAR was held in Belize City on October 9th and 10th, 2020. Zoe Walker, as the facilitator, Alicia Eck-Nunez from the Belize Fisheries Department and Dra. Anastazia Banaszak as the President for the Executive Committee 2017-2019, welcomed and introduced the participants to the meeting and Claudia Ruiz from MAR Fund read the agenda.

During this meeting, the participants of the four countries of the Mesoamerican Reef System, Dominican Republic and United States presented different projects about Coral Reefs Restoration and Conservation, and the coral nurseries implamantation and management, one of the objectives for this meeting was to exchange and share the information about new restoration techniques, nurseries management, and the monitoring and prevention of the Stony Coral Tissue Desease (SCTD).

The results for this meeting was: the election of the new Executive Committee 2019-2021, the approval of the Strategic Plan and the Bylaws of the RRN-SAM and create new proposals for the development of the Restoration Regional Plan for the MAR Region.
