Recognising the importance of coral reefs in supporting marine biodiversity and the particular challenges to meet the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework to restore 30% of degraded habitats for shallow-water tropical corals, Ocean US is looking at delivering coral restoration projects supporting communities in need whose livelihoods are linked to coral reefs that have degraded.

To this end, Ocean US is launching a call for project owners, referring to those entitled to conduct the restoration project, to submit proposals for ready-to-implement coral reef restoration projects that will be considered for support. Priority will be given to proposals coming from Small Developing Island States. Pre-selected proposals will be required to provide additional documentation and will be invited to a meeting.

This is an open call, but projects considered suitable may be addressed on a first comes-first serves basis.
